Mr. Steve Govedich taught at Yavapai College from 1981 to 2003. During his twenty two years of service at Yavapai College he was an instructor of Psychology and Sociology courses, and a Liberal Studies Core instructional team member for a variety of Connections and Western Civilization courses (Evolution and Creation, Science and Pseudoscience, Guns and American Culture, Space Exploration and American Culture, and AIDS the Modern Plague). He developed and taught four new courses:

• PSY 240 - Personality Development
• PSY 262 - Suicide and Crisis Intervention
• PSY/SOC 130 – Human Sexuality
• PSY 172 – Introduction to Parenting.

He also served as the Social Science Coordinator, General Education Coordinator, Division Chair, and finally as Divisional Assistant Dean for Liberal Arts. In addition to his instructional and administrative duties, he was continuously active in the Faculty Association and served on numerous ad hoc committees in service to the college community. His lengthy list of accomplishments below attests to his commitment to teaching and service to Yavapai College.
