Yavapai College Career

Roy Traver served as an Adjunct as well as a Full Time Art instructor at Yavapai College, Prescott Campus, from 1997 to 2014.  As an Adjunct, he assumed the responsibility of delivery of traditional as well as digital photography courses.  Roy contributed to the creation of the Associate of Fine Arts degree program at Yavapai College and the implementation of the Photography Certificate Program.

As an Art and Photography Instructor, Roy’s work was fundamental to the Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design degree and the publication of the Threshold Fine Arts magazine.  Roy Traver arranged for over $60,000 in donations to the Photography program and a $2500 cash donation to facilitate a lecture series in conjunction with the exhibition of Camera Work, A Centennial Celebration, in 2004.

Roy was Dean of the Visual & Performing Arts Division for the 2010/2011 academic year, after which he returned to the faculty ranks until he retired in August 2014. He served on the Faculty Affairs Committee, in the Faculty Senate, represented the YC Faculty at the 2006 AAUP Summer Institute, and served on various division committees.

Roy Traver was honored with Emeritus faculty status in 2016.
