We are honored to nominate Dr. Molly Beauchman for Faculty Emeritus status. Molly's 17-year tenure at Yavapai College, spanning 2004-2008 and 2010-2023, exemplifies extraordinary dedication to students, faculty, and the institution. Her contributions at Yavapai College and the greater Yavapai community align perfectly with the criteria for emeritus recognition, and her impact is far-reaching. Molly Beauchman is a truly exemplary educator, colleague, mentor, and leader.
Below is a list of Molly's contributions to Yavapai College:
National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) (May 2015) Yavapai College Award Recipient for work done in classroom outcomes.
Assessment Assessment Director (2016-2020) Duties Performed: Created assessment processes for documenting student learning outcomes and program review for all courses and programs at YC; Acted as a resource for Deans, Program Directors, Department Chairs, faculty and staff regarding assessment plans and program review reports; Assisted in the preparation of the mid-cycle accreditation HLC report and created yearly reports regarding assessment and program review at Yavapai College for the Executive Leadership Team and Academic Deans; Planned, facilitated and presented professional development activities at Assessment Day each Fall semester.
Program Review Committee (Chair 2018-2019) The program review committee established policy and procedures associated with the program review process and assisted all program directors, deans, department chairs with their written program reviews. Collected and compiled all program reviews and submitted to the Vice President of Academics buy Oct 31 for budget process in Fall.
Strategic Enrollment Committee (2018-2019) Served as representative of mathematics department and as assessment director.
Pathways Steering Committee (2017-2020) Represented mathematics department and served as assessment director. Planned, organized and facilitated two-day convocation activities for YC regarding pathways initiative to streamline degree and certificate pathways for students. Created Canvas workspaces for every school that included information about university degree plans. Worked closely with the Office of Instruction, Student Development and individual program leaders to complete degree plans for every certificate and degree at YC.
Curriculum Committee (2017-2022) Represented mathematics department and assessment.
Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (2011-2022: Chair 2012- 2015) Completely revised assessment outcomes processes and procedures for planning, collecting, and reporting assessment results for General Education and all degree and certificate plans at YC. Created new committee structure and function to help programs with their assessment processes.
Dual Enrollment Advisory Committee (2011-2023) Represented mathematics department as liaison. Peer Mentor new Faculty Members: Mentored several new faculty members and new mathematics teachers as part of the peer review process.
General Education Committee (2016-2020) Served as a faculty representative meeting monthly to discuss impacts to YC general education and AGEC requirements.
Faculty Senate (2018-2019) Was on the senate meeting bimonthly to discuss impacts of college improvement plans and issues concerning faculty.
YC Reorganization Committee (2018) Committee organized by Vice President of Instruction to recommend restructure of YC academic divisions.
Below is the list of community contributions within Yavapai County:
Dual Enrollment Liaison (Fall 2010-Spring 2023) This program helped high school students in the county earn college credits to transfer to university/college. Worked with all of the mathematics dual enrollment instructors in Yavapai County (40 courses each year, 10 instructors, 7 schools). Duties included: syllabus development, assist with course curriculum and policies for alignment with YC mathematics department, create and maintain Canvas workspace for communication, classroom observations, professional development on Dual Enrollment Day, assist with assessment activities (college-wide and departmental).
Advanced Placement Statistics Camp (2 days) for Yavapai County Students. Molly taught workshops to high school students from Yavapai and Coconino counties to help prepare them for the AP Statistics test.
Member of Alpha Delta Kappa. ADK projects include collecting/making gifts for residents of Pioneer home, volunteering locally at places such as Stepping Stones and raising money for scholarships for students who want to become teachers.
